K5 Intl.<\/a> has come on board for worldwide sales of the feature film \u201cRavens,\u201d starring Tadanobu Asano<\/a>, Emmy nominated for \u201cSh\u014dgun,\u201d and Kumi Takuichi.<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Mark Gill, known for Morrissey portrait \u201cEngland Is Mine\u201d (2017), and short film \u201cThe Voorman Problem\u201d (2011), which was Oscar and BAFTA nominated.<\/p>\n

K5 Intl. will present \u201cRavens\u201d at a special screening at Toronto Film Festival<\/a> and the film will have its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival at the end of October, as Variety<\/em> exclusively announced.<\/p>\n

The film depicts the turbulent love-triangle between maverick Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase, his model and wife Yoko, and Fukase\u2019s Art, incarnated as an eight-foot talking Raven. \u201cTender, mischievous and packing emotional sucker-punches, \u2018Ravens\u2019 maps the peaks, troughs and collateral damage of a life devoted to art,\u201d according to a statement.<\/p>\n

The film is produced by Minded Factory<\/strong>, Vestapol, Ark Entertainment, Katsize Films and The Y House Films in association with Teamo Production HQ LTD (TPHQ) and Townhouse Media Filmworks. Its producers are Orian Williams, Cyril Cadars, Megumi Fukasawa Ishii, Gill, Hideki Kawamura, Hiroyasu Nagata, David Barrera, Johanna Horn, Mohaan Naader, Nitsa Benchetrit, Henry Gillet and Sam Fayed.<\/p>\n

As well as his performance in FX\u2019s \u201cSh\u014dgun,\u201d Asano is known for his roles in Marvel\u2019s \u201cThor\u201d trilogy, \u201cHarmonium,\u201d Cannes Un Certain Regard jury prize winner in 2016, and the classic \u201cIchi the Killer\u201d (2001).<\/p>\n

Takiuchi, who plays Yoko in \u201cRavens,\u201d appeared in \u201cA Balance,\u201d winner of the New Currents Award for best film at Busan in 2020.<\/p>\n
